DSC/ABS/No Cruise No Speedo
I had good experience with ASI rebuilding my ECU, and they do everything, I think.

This does look different than mine when I opened it up (2001 MY). There were two larger posts in that corner and it was obvious one had broken the solder connection. I do not see those two posts in your picture.
Just arranged for bench testing and possible rebuild by BBA in Mass. Was about to send off to another company but BBA was cheaper on the bench testing. We'll see. Sometimes, time IS money. Maybe I should have worked a little extra at work and had the dealer fix it. Nah. Just kidding. It kills me to pay six times what it costs me to do the job.
Just talked with BBA in Mass. The ABS unit checks out fine. That's the good news.
But, I still don't have an answer.
Before I admit defeat and go to the dealer, any other recommendations?

Thanks for all your help. The ABS unit is reinstalled and all is good. Had just an ABS light initially but cleared that with my Bluetooth OBDII scanner. Now to enjoy springtime.
I have the exact symptoms as Livewire after repairing my abs module. My belief is that I have lost the programming in the abs module. I am booked into the dealer next week to flash the module and check/clear codes.
Funny/sad story. So I hop in the XK8 a couple weeks ago. My heart sank as I started her up. A bunch of warning lights blew up on the dash. ABS/DSC/red ellipse, etc. My first thoughts: Why are these electronics so funky? Hooked up my Bluetooth OBDII scanner but no help. Lifted the hood, just to see if I could find anything. I did. A mouse nest on top of the right front fenderwell. And, a narrow yellow wire was chewed through. I soldered the wire together, did a battery disconnect and...voila. Everything is good. Moral of the story: It may not be dodgy electronics that causes those annoying faults. Could just be vermin.
On a side note, there's a pretty significant oil leak now. I can't crawl under her right now. But, is this just a freaky coincidence or is there any part which conveys motor oil that a mouse could chew through? (And, yes, it is, for certain, motor oil, not hydraulic fluid or brake fluid or coolant.)
