ECU repairer in the UK

Welcome to the forum James,
Not often we see someone wait over two years to make a first post!
You are close to one of the World's best Jaguar repairers (David Marks Garage) and one of the UK ECU repair specialists (Bluehawk Electronics). Both are in Nottingham.
However, before concluding the ECU is at fault, posting details of the problem could get useful advice.

OK so after a "spirited" dual carriageway run, when I came off, the engine went into Failsafe Mode, very spluttery (obviously running on limited cylinders), after being parked up for a bit It went back to normal and I carefully drove it home (a few miles) as I approached home it went Failsafe again but I just managed to get it on the drive. I pulled the following codes... P0352 P0353 P0355 P0358 & P1368 and began my research. Initially it was assumed that the amplifier modules would fix it, so I purchased a couple of used ones and replaced, but didn't install them to be able to see if the problem was re-occurring (which it was after about 15 mins of driving a few days later). At this point I swapped the modules out and with the exact same results "Failsafe" (and same codes, not the other side (even though its not a side as such) which I believe are different codes)so then I went back to my research and one thread on here that literally was almost endless, but the end result was an ECU repair. Similar threads I have come across have also indicated ECU. I did start looking for an ECU but its an early vin (5400) so repair is my next best option. I'm reluctant to start throwing new parts at it like sensors as I've seen others pain in doing so... which quite rightly I could end up doing myself. Fortunately though I have just finished a 98 XK8 convertible which is superb especially with this summer we're having and again its been on a faultless European tour this year so she is a keeper for sure.
I will make some enquiries with Bluehawk and of course I'm open and grateful to suggestions from anyone on here.

Hi what did you do in the end. I have the same problem, I found a thread about changing the capacitors and did that, but sadly did not fix the problem, sent ECM to be tested £50 later and no faults found with it. I can drive for an hour but after that all goes wrong. I too changed the control modules. Think I will call it a day and sell the car.
