Default Looking for repairer on Fylde Coast Lancashire

Hi,

Could anyone tell me of a repairer near Blackpool please? Not main dealer. Phoned loads locally but no one willing to look at my '03 XJ6 (x350) 3.0 Auto :-(

Several faults on dashboard main concern is gearbox. Only uses one forward gear I think 3rd but comes out of gear with no drive and clunks back in gear as engine revs increase. Reverse seems to work ok. Had small leak for 2 year seems like lack of oil in gearbox to me.

Battery is Lucas 95ah only two year old so doubt it's that's.

Stephen,

If you were to stick a pin in the map then Blackpool has to be the worst location for Jaguar specialists.

You're about equal distance from the two transmission specialists .......

1. Mackie Automatic Transmissions Ltd in Glasgow - Auto Repair Tollcross, Glasgow | Mackie Automatic & Manual Transmissions

2. Bristol Transmissions - Gearbox Repair- Bristol Transmissions - Automatic- Gearbox Repairs - Manual Transmissions- Transfer Boxes - Differentials -Bristol Transmissions

...... and one of the best independent specialists

3. The Jag Specialist in Doncaster - The Jag Specialist - Independent Jaguar Servicing & Repairs

In your situation I would seriously consider getting the vehicle to one of the experts.

Graham

Thankyou but too far. Think I'll scrap it.

If it's not too late, try XJK Jaguar of Newcaste-under-Lyme. They maintain my XJ6 3 litre that is the same as yours. No point in scrapping before you've had an opinion, surely ?
