Default Engine Fault/Transmission Fault

My 2005 X-Type stalled at a light a couple weeks ago. The oil light flashed like crazy and then I got engine default and transmission fault readings on the dash. The car had a terrible knocking noise. I was able to put it in drive and slowly make my way to the side of the road to wait for a tow. It's been sitting for almost 3 weeks now. Yesterday I needed to move it. When I started it I heard the loud knock and then it went away. No oil light or transmission fault/engine fault readings. I can still hear a slight knock. Coolant and oil levels are all good. Any suggestions?

How many miles on car? I'd say the knocking sound is from the engine, especially if you hear it when not moving. I recommend doing an oil analysis. Blackstone is one vendor you'll see commonly referenced; I use kits available from AMSOIL. That will help guide you. Good luck.

The car has 119,920 miles on it. I'll look into it. Thanks!
