They would like you to believe that they know more than the engineers who designed the engine. What you get from the factory is a certain level of performance balanced with driveability, efficiency, reliability and emission compliance. What you might get from them is improved performance at the expense of the other components of the equation. Also, warranty?

Walk very carefully if you go down this road.
I have a friend in Bahrain who retunes ECMs for a living. It’s a complicated computerised procedure to remap an engine for optimum performance. After an oil and filter service, he runs the car on a rolling road as the current engine state is a factor. Really a pro job to extract 10percent extra from the car without blowing the engine and tranny.
Now if you believe just plugging in a computer in the OBD2 port will do this, on a 15 year old car, you are more trusting than most.
Tread very carefully. Lots of fake products on the market just trying to empty your wallet.
