When the car is started from cold there is a definite blowing coming from the engine bay, which after a couple of minutes on idle disappears. I can only put it down to a leaking(cracked)exhaust manifold ,which once hot seals itself up. Having only just entered into the world of jaguar i am hoping with the knowledge amassed on the forum i can be told what the problem could be and how to correct it. Many thanks. Anthony.

 

That's probably the secondary air pump, which provides additional air to the exhaust system to burn the excess fuel during a cold start.
