It is on the underside of the overflow/fill tank, and is actuated by a magnetic float inside the tank. Sometime the float inside the tank accumulates sediment and removing the tank and giving it a good cleaning will fix the problem.

Another thing that happens is that the float loses bouyancy, sinks, and so indicates low fluid.
Somewhere in this forum there is a thread wherein people devised a sort of booster to help the float float. A bouyant, c-shaped thingy that fits under the float itself (c-shaped because the float is a donut that rides on a post and otherwise we couldn't get the booster under it.)
