Engine Fail Safe Mode Message
I keep getting a message that I am in Engine Fail Safe Mode but everything is operating normally. I know I need to replace ABS/ECU but past issues with Fail Safe Mode have resulted in limp home and fix. Not the problem this time. Full RPMs and normal HP are available. No Codes showing. Any suggestions. 2000 XK8.
Why do you think you need to replace the modules? If really bad they can be repaired, but unless you have the ABS light and no ASC or TC, there is not a problem there. When you say no codes, do you mean with a generic reader? They don't display Jag specific codes. I'll be at the British Car Fayre in Alpharetta next Sat. if it doesn't rain, and will have my laptop with AE in the car. If you come there we could take a look.

Didn't know about the Alpharetta event next week. Will try to change schedule and be there. Probably will be the only one there with an ugly beard but how will we meet otherwise?
Looking like a washout. I believe you said you were not attending if it rained. Is there any chance you have a picture of the solder points if you are not going to the British Car Fayre.
I keep getting conflicting reports for Sat. and will wait until then to decide. But I remembered this from jagrepair.com:
JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
There's a lot of information and DIY videos on his site. If you do decide to solder the terminals use a hot iron, it's easy to get a cold joint like they did originally. I even used a touch of flux paste to be sure.
