Default Exhaust Diameter ?

I want to install the Magnaflow X Pipe and replace the middle silencer - I just wanted to check on the pipe diameter first - is the 06 XKR Victory a 2.5 inch product? ( Magna Flow Product 10791) ( MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles )

BTW - have the headings changed on the categories? - the XK8/XKR now say through 2005, but my 2006 is the same model as the 2005 and the major model change was with the 2007 model year.

I just cut out the mid muffler on my '05 R. The pipe there was 2" and 2 1/4" X-pipe slid right over the existing pipe to make the joints.

The piping is just slightly larger than 2'', so as stated above 2.25 should slip right over.

By the way, you can pick up a T409 stainless steel crossover X-pipe on ebay for $39 shipped from a US supplier. It has the correct spacing for our application, like the Magnaflow, except at less than half the cost. On an item like this there's no performance gain with one brand over the other, you're just paying for the name.

jnporcello - How does your car sound with the mid muffler removed?

By mid-muffler, you do mean the ones after the long muffler - right?

Default X Pipe

I intend to install the crossover in place of the big muffler located about under the seats. You have the cat downpipes, then the big muffler and beyond that I have already installed a high performance exhaust. (Mina)

I believe, in researching the threads on this forum, this crossover in place of the big silencer is the next step in improving performance and upping the level of growl.

The sound is pretty good - just a little throaty. Everything else is stock, except I removed the large single muffler that both pipes flow into and out of. This is the one I replaced with the H pipe. It is very quiet at idle, but has a little growl or throatyness at higher RPM. It may actually be a little quiet for my taste. I am thinking putting Nameless downpipes on and that would be about right for me with the H pipe.
