Exhaust Manifold
Put the engine back in my 1997 XK8 after going through it. Can't get the exhaust manifolds into position (not enough space between heads and shock towers).
Any tricks to help me with getting these in would be GREAT, really getting old doing everything twice on this car.
Thanks

Jay111.
If they are XK8-XKR Jaguar Manifolds for the AJ-V8 they will fit....All XK8-XKR Manifolds are pretty much the same with the sharp Bend at the Rear that leads to the Cat....The Sedan version of the Exhaust is an little different in that it doesn't make the sharp Bend...It flows on toward the back at an angle....Look up the Part Numbers...

They are the ones that came on the car. Unless there is a trick to get the drivers side manifold on without pulling the engine again , I can't seem to get it to fit between the fender well and the rear corner of the head.

My suggestion is to unbolt the engine mounts, reattach the lift chain and lift the engine until you can tilt it to allow the manifold to slide on, then do it on the other side.
