I have a 2001 XK8 with a inop 4.0 engine. I am replacing it with a 4.0 engine from a 2003 XJ8. The exhaust manifolds on both engines appear to be the same. Has anyone had any experience with this? It would be a lot easier to change on the engine stand if they are different. Also any other problems that I might encounter? Thanks

 

They look to have the same part numbers in the catalog BUT the XJ version specifically notes the supercharged engine under "With EGR" so you might want to check that your new engine has all of the EGR parts. If not, the XK manifold should move over.

Does your new engine have the metal tensioners? Some of the late 4.0L did but you have to check the engine serial number to really be sure.
