Default Exhaust manifold leak

My 2000 XKR has a noticeable exhaust manifold leak, typical "tapping" sound under acceleration. The engine light is on, and my code reader tells me my upstream oxygen sensors are bad. Could my sensors be ok, and the exhaust leak be causing a bad signal?

Unlikely, bear in mind the leak could be from the EGR pipe. I had a what I thought was a manifold leak that turned out to be that.

Thanks Bob, I did a forum "search" for this topic and did not see anything. (Kind-of new to this forum). Where are these TSB's at?
I will definitely check the EGR pipe! Thanks for the help

The problem with this forum is that they are scattered all over the various models.

Gus has them all on his site and I think they are organized??
I have all the TSBs on my computer because I worked at the dealer and saved them.
I don't need to look for them online.

Check his site. (JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource)

Could also be pinging under lean condition (there are knock sensors, I know). I would recommend you check fuel trims for a better picture, but these will only be as good as what the sensor reports. If you already have a code for the O2 sensor, just go ahead and replace it (or them). Feel free to post the codes, too.

Best of luck, keep us posted.
