Default External Battery connection for 2006

As part of my quest for more information on my 2006 XK8, is there an external battery connection for the 2006? Seems that if the battery dies there is no way to get the trunk open. I have not found a key slot yet, just the internal button, and the key transponder. Still waiting for my manual to arrive from eBay.

Key slot is located below the right side tail light on the XK8/R or 4.2S badge (on some cars the key slot sits between the X and the K, on newer cars it is adjacent to the letters. Before sticking your key in there, make sure to lube it up with penetrating fluid. If it has not been used in a long time the mechanism will be seized. Also, the Jaguar growler on the trunk badge above the license plate is a button that opens your trunk... of course that one requires the battery to work.
There is a procedure to jump start the car from the engine bay, but it escapes me at the moment.

I have circled in red in the following image the location of the trunk key slot.

Sam, battery connection is available under hood. Open hood, go to driver's side. Find shock tower, use 1 of the 3 shock bolts as ground. Look left a few inches, see black plastic box, note rubber cap (God only knows why they made it black) over the battery terminal. Use it to charge or open trunk. It cannot handle starter amperage.

Thanks gang, I thought there had to be a way around dead battery access. I have only had my "Baby" a couple of weeks and have been working a problem that I think is a passive security problem. I only have the green(valet) key. Have gotten locked out(no start) a couple of times after locking the car with the transponder. Waiting now to get a black key from my local Jag dealer. As a rresult, the car has spent time at my mechanics, and I am not spending a lot of time going over it. Also waiting to get an owner's manual from eBay.
OTHER THAN THAT, the car is in excellent shape. 49,000 miles, one owner, according to the CarFax report, if you can believe it.
I thought there would be a location under the hood to connect, as my '89 Cadillac Allante' had the battery points. Black for positive?? Oh, well, it is British........
MAny thx.

i'm assuming thats a pun of sorts. For those that aren't old enough to remember, some vehicles had positive ground electrical systems pre late 1970's. But positive wires were never black, even on the + grounded systems.
