Default faded hood vents on XKR

So the hood vents on my XKR are faded. Trying to decide what to do about it, and if any other options other than painting. Anyone do a vinyl wrap on these?

The faded because of the engine heat. Painting is the only way to do it. A vinyl wrap will last weeks before the edges start pealing away, using 3m 1080.

Thanks hm1. Guess I can manage a base coat (I have several HVLP automotive paint guns). Anyone have experience with hydrographic printing? I still like the "carbon" look and think it may look really nice as an accent to the hood without being to "bling".

my XKR vents are very slightly faded in one area. They get extremely hot after driving for abit, so i am not surprised. I have Platinum paint, and i think i will re-paint them 2 shades deeper Platinum. so that it stands out, but is not jarring...your paint color is gorgeous. maybe a shade deeper would suit you?

Hi Guys!
Are you sure they didn't come from the Factory that way.....My 2005 XKR is Ebony and my Hood Vents are Flat Black! I think they look great! I know they've been Flat Black all along....they didn't fade because of the heat!!!!

No, they're faded because of the heat. If you like the look, that's a real bonus--- no need to fix

Mine are definitely faded as the color isn't consistent, i.e., lighter down deep in the louvered area, and a bit "splotchy" overall.
