Default Fault code P0197

I recently changed the valve cover gaskets since they were leaking oil. I have noticed an intermittent oil smell when the car is not moving since the new gaskets were installed, but there is no oil on the engine or the floor. After a week, the check engine light came on and I have a P0197 code, which indicates "engine oil temperature sensor low". The oil level on the dipstick is down a little. Any ideas?

"P0197 code, which indicates "engine oil temperature sensor low"

This says that the Sensor Circuit Voltage is low indicating a HIGH Oil Temperature.

Attached is a list of codes for your car so you can see the default action and causes. You may want to check all plugs you were working near also do a hard reset and see if it clears.

There were no codes prior to the gasket replacement, so I will drop it back in my mechanic's lap.
