Default Fault code in transmission.

Well after I cleaned my maf sensor I thought I had my trans shift problem going well. (it will jump out of gear when I get on it between shifts nomal driving is OK) But I think I decieved myself. I had a little puddle under the cat in my garage and from other posts here figured it was the electrical line boot O ring. Well I got it into the shop and sure thing they seen it and concluded with me on that. also ran a check on the tranny and they told me that the temp is reading cold and that the sensor in the tranny is the problem with the shifting. It's an 04 XK8 and it seems feasable. also Jaguar wanted around 2K for the part to fix it. It is the 6 speed box. We have ZF sending the part now at a fraction of the price and Jaguar would only sell the sensor attached to some other valve or something that I've already forgot. anyway, has anyone run into this one yet and will this solve my shift problem? They told me at the shop that they see this a lot in Porsche's with the ZF box. Thanks in advance.

what about fluid level when you first diagnosed it? Had the leak been ongoing for months? That sleeve has been a leaker on some cars, mainly the xjs and s-types though, haven't heard of any on the xks...I know, same tranny, but somehow, that issue hasn't been cropping up on that model.

It had just started. They said only about 2 ounces low.

Looks like I was wrong on getting the sensor from ZF without the valve attached. they want an arm and a leg too. So we're looking into getting a used sensor. ITs been tough though.

Default XKR (722.6/W5A580) Trans fault code fix

I got Tran Fault Code on my XKR after a hard acceleration and coasting off of freeway off ramp and it went to neutral. Was able to reset and drive after restart. Did some snooping around and found that fluid was leaking from the "plug" in the 722.6/W5A580 which also houses the wiring harness. The harness has a tendency to wick the fluid towards the TCM if left too long, which will create another set of issues.
Bought the plug and "O" rings from Jag dealer, got filter kit and fluids from Eurotoys and paid local independent $550 for them to perform the needed fix.
All is fine now

Looks like I need the 6HP26 valve assembly with sensors. I finally seen what one looks like. I'll post that I'm looking.

The part is called a Bosch Mechatronic. Got one for CTSC for 1500.00.
