I thought this day would never happen, but finally the day has come. This was the best day as a Jaguar enthusiast. First the day started out driving on the expressway and I noticed an XK8. I said thats pretty rare but common. Then 1 hour later driving thru the town I pulled to at the stop light and noticed an XKR at the other stoplight getting ready to turn on the same street I was turning on. Then as we was turning he gave me the honors to pass him and applauded. We met at the next set of lights and rolled the windows down to congratulate each other about our beautiful XKR's. His was a coupe and was very sharp and had some nice wheels. Everybody we drove past just stopped everything they were doing to admire the beauty of our XKR's. It feels so good being an XKR owner.

 

Just like Mel Brooks said in "History of The World, Part 1": "It's good being the King!"

It is nice. I come from a Jaguar family and myself, my brother and my father all have XK's. We definitely get some looks when we show up at the same spot.

 

A realtor in my town has the same white vert w/ beige interior and top. Only our wheels are different. We see each other all over town. I parked next to her once in the shopping center parking lot. Wish I had my camera.

 

I have no "R", but I do have the only red coupe in the city. Trust me that is all the attention I need.

It use to be the ugly factor, The car helped out a lot. Especially with tinted windows.

 

Yesterday I had a close encounter too. We were almost head to head but the other XK8 was candy red convertible with 22" ghetto rims. I got a headache just looking at the horrible look of it. People don't understand that an XK8 that got raised 2"-3" via rims drives like crap at "fun-speeds".

 

My favorite color combination for this model by far! I just don't see all that many like that (saw one the other day and it looked great) and I just missed getting one when I was shopping around for used XK8/XKR a couple of years ago.
