Fitting 2002 separate headrest seats into 1999 XK8
Hi All,
I am trying to fit a 2002 model seats (the ones with separate headrests) into a 1999 model (the ones with the back as a single piece, including the headrest). The seat connections don't fit. What would be the easiest solution for the swap to work? Changing the connections? The modules? I have the modules available from the old seats but the new ones have extra functions (like setting the headrest height).
Did anybody attempt this?
thank you

You'll need to compare the schematics for your specification original seats with the 2002 donor specification. It gets complicated straightaway because the 1999 has options:
1. Driver seat - memory
2. Driver seat - non-memory
3. Passenger seat - 3 way movement
4. Passenger seat - 2 way movement
Then the 2002 has options:
1. Driver seat - memory
2. Driver seat - non-memory
3. Passenger seat - 5 way movement
4. Passenger seat - 3 way movement
Add to those variables, heated or non-heated seats. Do you have compatible 2002 seats for a start.
The Seat Modules are different and the 2002 has an additional Head Restraint Module. Door switchpacks are also different.
Nothing is impossible if you throw enough time and money at it but trying to get fully functioning 2002 seats in your 1999 could become very expensive. As a compromise, getting the 2002 seats to provide the same functions as your 1999 looks achievable by using the original 1999 modules on your replacement seats.
It's a lot of work and you need to ensure you can reverse the fitment if things don't go to plan.
