Cool flooding

On my 2000 XK8 a few seconds after starting it seems to flood itself and stall. Same thing after re-starting. Finally after several starts in runs fine. Does anyone know what does this?

Could it be starving for fuel? Check the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail.

Fuel pressure is good. It seems more like flooding. Very rich smell when it starts and black smoke. If I wait a few seconds (15 or 20) with the key on and it doesn't do it. When the engine is warm it doesn't do it at all. If ever I have to rob a bank I'll leave it running.

might be time to put a odbII reader and use torque app to measure the fuels trims to see how they are behaving. If you're getting too much fuel it's possible you have a bad injector leaking.
