Hi where did you get your nice logo/name floor mats? I have a 2001 XKR, and need beige. Thanks

I got mine from GG Bailey and am very pleased with the color match to my beige/oatmeal interior. Ask them for a color sample package. It contains remants of the actual carpet so you can judge which color is best for your application.

Talking Old mat thread....

No pun intended. I have been looking for replacement mats for my 1999 XK8 as the originals although in good condition have been bleached by sunlight or something has stained them. Has anyone in the U.K ordered from the U.S and found it to be cost effective??? Or is there a place over here which can supply the same quality of carpet with the various upgrades?
After all it seems quite strange having to import a British car part from the U.S.
Any advice or links to respected mat sellers appreciated.
Is it possible to have the OEM mats dyed, as that's all that mine need really?
Regards,
ArtyH

I ordered a set of Lloyd Ultimats for my wife's XK8 in August 2012. They had a wide array of colors so a perfect match was possible, and these mats fit better and tighter in the floor pan than the factory Victory Edition mats did. Plus, they are thicker, more durable, and more luxurious. I did not opt for any customized embroidery. I paid a total of $87 for the pair of front mats and they came with free shipping and a five-year warranty. Not sure whether they ship to the UK but for the quality you receive, it is worth investigating....

Thanks for the info Jon89, just seems ludicrous to have to import from the U.S for a U.K car. I really want the quality as close to the OEM as possible, with a heal pad and a logo like the others have. Mine is in storage at the moment and I cannot remember how it looks exactly, just it needs changed.
Cheers,
ArtyH

Arty,

The mats are handed so a US LHD set will not fit a UK RHD XK8/XKR

I was impressed with the photos of AUTO ETC mats posted by several members and eMailed to ask if they could produce RHD for my XK8 if I sent them the patterns.

Never even acknowledged my eMail, let alone a reply.

Jon89,

I see on Lloyd's website, that you have to order from one of their distributors.

Any idea if they are all the same pricing?

What company did you go through?

Lastly, what made you decide on the Ultimat instead of the Luxe mats?

Thanks in advance.

I ordered our Lloyds Ultimats through UniqueAutoDepot.com. If I remember correctly, I chose them for their free shipping. Some of the other providers charged for shipping, and I'm always looking for the best deal on any commodity....

After doing my research, I went with Lloyds because so many satisfied customers bragged about their better-than-factory fit and quality carpet-pile durability. These mats have really held up well in my wife's car. I don't think you can go wrong if you choose them....

Can not find anyone that has the ability to add the Jaguar logo on the mats anymore seems that the licensing agreements no longer exist. Bummer!!!!

That's bad news Graham, I thought they had hundreds of patterns and all I had to do was state RIGHT hand drive, I thought they made them to order also so it should not have been a problem.
To not reply when a question is asked of a supposed international company is shocking and it shows they only care for the U.S market. Never mind there will be others of similar or better quality to be found. I might just take the carpet to one of the local trade places in Newcastle for a match and they do binding for around £10. It wont have a heal pad or logo but I'm sure it will work.
Cheers,
ArtyH

Arty,

I've had three sets of mats from Unique Car Mats in Skegness:

Jaguar XK8 1996-2006 | Tailored Car Mats & Car Accessories - carmats4u.com - motorwaymats.com

Good fit and good quality but no logos.

They'll send samples so you can assess quality and difference between the products.

Thanks for that Graham, I did see their site and wondered about the quality ( which sounded good ), did you get the Exclusive @ £49.99 or the Luxury @ £35.50?
Just spoke to the company and the only difference is the binding, they use the same carpet for both styles. Am I correct in thinking the OEM carpet has stitched binding, just wondering which to go for to keep it as near original as possible?

Cheers,

ArtyH

I took their Exclusive.

As I recall, the binding was in the same style as OE on my (then) X308. Here's a photo of the OE mat in my XK8 4.2-S showing the binding is single stitched:

I think this contrasting trim and stitching was only OE on the Final Series but it's down to personal preference.

Has anyone ordered floor mats lately with the logo? I went online (Avery) and they are saying they can't do the logo due to trademark laws.

I have tried to get logo on mats from a couple of dealers with the same result(Copyrighted).
