the floor mat saga continues: After being sent mats from Ca. Car Covers that did not have the correct anchor hooks, I made more inquires with other vendors. One of them is Carid. I just got a response from them. They say that Lloyd Mats only use their proprietary fasteners, which is two grommets on the driver side and non on the pass. side. They are not able to provide OEM fasteners.

So I'm back to square one. Does anybody know where to get mats that have one anchor hook on each side? in the Bahama color?

 

The Lloyd Ultimats in the Bahama color that I ordered for my wife's 2006 XK8 in August 2012 have just the one grommet attachment hole for both the drivers mat and the passengers mat. They are a perfect fit and much better quality than the OEM Jaguar mats are. I ordered them through UniqueAutoDepot.com.

 

the floor mat issue gets more complicated by the day. My question is this: In 2001, did the XKR come with 1, or 2 or no anchor hooks for the floor mats?

 

I called Unique and was on hold for 15 mins. and then was left to leave a message. no call back. that was an hour ago. I have never had some much trouble trying to buy some floor mats.

I've already been told by a VP of Lloyd Mats, that I cant buy them with one anchor hook.

Perhaps I should send him a picture of my Ultimats that have only one eyelet, next to the Lloyds box they arrived in just 4 months ago.

Or maybe you can just show him that their own factory store offers them.

 

The floor mat story finally has an ending. I had Ca. Car Cover and Carid tell me that Lloyd can't produce a mat with the correct one grommet per side. I contacted Unique and Auto Notions and they didn't bother to call me back. The Jag Indy shop (Coventry Cars) that has worked on my 01 XKR called Lloyd and got them to produce the correct mat, but after a month of frustration, the final straw is that Lloyd is "out" of Bahama color, so had to settle for the Neutral color. One of my other cars is a 2007 Corvette and buying mats for that car is way easier!!

 

A little late but for the benefit of other jag owners....try World Upholstery and Trim. I have an 03 xkr with one anchor point in each floor mat. I sent them 2 templates and they sent me back 2 floor mats. They should still have the patterns. Got the jaguar name and the leaping cat embroidery.

 

An update on the floor mat story: Just picked up the mats from Coventry Cars, an indy Jag shop here in SD. Ended up the the "neutral" color, with the correct one anchor hook. in case anyone wants to order these, here is the template number= 3426210. see attached photos

Just got new mats for my 2006 XKR Victory. World Upholstery won't put the grommets in, either one or two per mat. Don't ask, they won't do it. At least the guy I was working with said they won't do the grommets.

But, the grommets are 1/2" and you can get a grommet kit and do it yourself easily. You'll just need a good hole cutter.

I didn't send a pattern, but the fit is very good. Both mats are longer thet OEM mats. The flash from the camera makes the colors look more different than they look in natural light. They are not cheap. With shipping these were $260 US.

​​​​The suprise was they did "XKR" lettering close to how it is supposed to be. Supposedly they will only do one color stitching. A nice red "R" would have been nice, but I can certainly live with these.
