Default FREE STUFF.....Honest!!!

I have some exhaust pieces and grill pieces that came off of an '01 XK8. The car had 18k miles on it when they were removed and are in very good condition. See pics. I want to get this stuff out of my garage and into your's.....sooooooo, it's free!!! You just pay the shipping.
I've posted this stuff on Ebay, but I'm happy to give to the folks on this site. Let me know.

Exhaust question:

I have what is shown in the picture on my 2000 XK8 coupe. The pipes that enter the small mufflers (for lack of better words), do the two pipes go stright to the CATs, on each side of the car, or do they enter (actually exit) a large muffler in the middle of the car?

On my car its the header, then into the CAT then stright to the small muffler then into the large muffler as is shown in the picture.

Is my exhaust stock or has it been modified?

GJ, the pieces shown in the picture hook up to the large muffler in the middle of the car.

The previous owner must have changed things. I don't have a center muffler. Engine manifold to a CAT then stright to the small muffler/resonator at the rear to the large muffler in the rear. Both sides of the engine are like this.

Sounds like it's been modified to me. How does it sound? Must be fairly loud.

No, not loud at all. You can't hear anything until you get up to 3000/4000 rpms then you here a nice growl but nothing like a Vette or mussel car sound where it rattles your teeth fillings. No drone at highway speeds either.

I thought all of our XK's were like this and couldn't understand why others felt they needed to change their exhaust to get more sound from the exhaust. Now I understand what others were talking about.

To save some money I'd try removing that center muffler and go stright pipe from each CAT to each resonator then muffler on each side of the car. Jaguar exhaust prices are way out of line compaired to most other cars.

So who's next to give away some parts? I suppose it doesn't have to be car related, does it? This should be a pay it forward type of thread.

h20boy, That's a fairly awesome idea. But, perhaps just put it in classifieds as "free to members". Then a nominal fee to cover a guy's shipping and away we go.
