Hi chuck,

You are right, you can't recondition coil springs but in the UK we call non genuine Jaguar parts remanufactured. Basically they are copies of the original parts which are hopefully of equivalent or better quality.

DandyAndy;
I'll be damned. Never heard that before, but as I said "you brits do things others never thought about".
So, parts that are made by third party folks or, after market parts as we say, are the same: After market/remand's all the same.............

Thanks AndyDandy, I'm 81 now and still learning.........

Cheers

No problem Chuck... I meant to address Johnken and Dandy andy. ... BTW... how does one recon or re-manufacture springs? not to say it cannot be done, just never thought of it.

Default Coil Spacers?

I replaced sagging springs, and then the new springs are sagging only six months in. So what about coil spacers? Where to get, what to ask for? Thanks for direction.

If the new coils are sagging more than 1/8th of an inch, they are the wrong spring rate or you have other problems. Some settling will occur over time, but not significant in just 6 months. I changed back to OEM from aftermarket and after a few months have not experienced any drop at all.

Questions: are they OEM or after-market? What was the ride height before and now? Have you checked the bushing components?

Just wanted to update everyone that I ended up going with the DCR Auto Parts springs. I'm quite happy with them. They're very close if not identical to stock ride height.

Yes, I used the same springs from DCR Auto Parts too. The ride height is roughly 5mm below minimum spec but that's not worth worrying about.
No more grounding on speed bumps!
