Hi Everyone

Had a shock recently after picking up my XK8 from the local independent after a service. They advised that the front inner wings were corroded and holed behind the subframe, and that its a certain MOT failure unless fixed . They have quoted £650 plus vat to fix, however they have warned that its not an easy job and if it becomes difficult to remove the front subframe it could stretch to £1000. Ouch!

Anyone had any similar issues ? Does the price seem fair ? Got a few weeks to decide as MOT is not till end of June .

Sounds fair enough, the chances are the subframe bushes will also need to be replaced, mine had disintegrated when I took the subframe off to do this job.

 

Hi There, thanks for reply. From what i have heard £600 plus vat sounds reasonable .
Will probably press ahead and get it done
