Default Are the front and rear wheel speed sensors interchangeable?

I cleaned all the sensors and am still getting a fault, abs/trac + engine light. Computer says its the left rear wheel sensor that's failing. My Jag mechanic wants to see if that's true by switching sensors and seeing if the fault comes back up saying its where the sensor is switched to, i.e. not the left rear but say the right rear.

This he says is a way to confirm it's just the sensor and not the ABS module, rebuilt by ASI/autoecu.com I think in 9/2011 from the sticker, hard to see though. I'd like to switch it myself since it'd be a lot faster, this mechanic has a junkyard parking scenario and it's a pain to schedule it. I only have the one jack the car comes with so I can't jack up the whole rear end at once, BUT I can easily reach in the front well and take out a front sensor to switch with the supposed faulty one.

Are the front and rear wheel speed sensors interchangeable?

The attached shows that they are the same part number. Ignore the pricing.
