Hi. As our cars get older, certain parts are becoming harder to find. Namely the fuel pressure regulator and the NCA3007CA. I have an AJ26 4.0 supercharged and am coming to the end of a long session of problem solving of why the engine hasnt been running correctly. I think I am at the end.. My last test to do undertake a fuel pressure test off the rail with the Schrader valve.

Knowing my car, this will be an issue so looking for thoughts on alternatives to the rare and difficult to source original.
What have people done to replace and overcome the need? I see people in the x308 forum have found an adapter to the rail which let them use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator but this route with that FPR caused rich codes at high rpm.

Are second hand fuel pressure regulators that hard to find from breakers? Delphi list their FP10385 regulator as being compatible - although whether it is in reality I don't know.

Before going parts shopping though, you need to check the fuel pressure, the fuel filter and the fuel pumps.

 

Second hand parts are now very old. I do prefer to use new if i can.. At a push second hand. You never know how long second hand will last.

The XKR has 3 ports to the part. That Delphi maybe from the XK8.

Intention is to do the pressure test.. at the weekend. If it stops raining.

I see options on the adjustable FPR's. There are rising rate and also some have different ratio's.

Ideally something simple like a direct replacement from another car where the part is more easily available. Surely this part isnt only manufactured for the XK's. Any cross compatability?
