Fuel rail damper
I have a bad fuel rail damper that needs to be replaced. Does anyone have a procedure for the removal of the fuel rail (and injectors) on a 2003 4.2 naturally aspirated engine?
Reading through various threads I'm leaning towards using injectorrx (of Houston TX) to close the damper port on each rail and to service the injectors while this is done. It looks like it would cost just a little more to do this compared to the damper replacement.

Check for cracked injectors too. It looks like you’re zeroing it down to the fuel delivery system.
I had a couple of cracked injectors. Jaguar sells the whole thing including injectors and rails as a package and none of it is available separately. It’s almost as if they expect that if any part of it fails, then it all fails together? Oh yeah, and I paid over $3k to get it done.
Search YouTube for engine fire videos if you want to see what happens if you don’t take care of it... I definitely would park outside until you get it fixed.

Hey Bob, I'm dealing with the same issue on my 2003 4.2 XKR. Attached is the procedure on replacing the dampers. I believe the 4.2 N/A engine is much less involved as the fuel rail access is readily available?? I purchased replacement dampers at injectorplanet.com Part Number : 2W93-9F775-AA, I didn't take a picture of the item I received but it had the mostly the same etchings as the original damper I took off the car. Part # and pressure rating where the same etching but there was another 3-4 digit etching that did not match ,manufacturing date? The O-ring on the original part is light blue and black on the replacement part. I'm still waiting for some inlet manifold gaskets before I can put the car back together and give the full report of a successful fix or not. On the replacement part I did have to bend the tabs open as they arrived with the tabs closed.
I contacted InjectorRX to do the welding option but that told me they don't offer it anymore.
