Default ? Fuel sender location on coupe different for 02 vs 00?

My fuel gauge behaves erratically hours after an initial full fill-up. Member
Paul Pavlik explained a simple fix for his 2000 XKR coupe and I am wondering if the unit would be in the same location for my 2002 XKR coupe. I am not that handy, and the mechanics I have described his fix to are skeptical to put it mildly.

The lowest price I have received for fixing the gauge problem in the "usual" fashion was around $450 with two other Jag shops saying they would charge $850.

The senders are different.
The senders are easy to replace on cars to VIN A11050.

The fuel tank needs to be removed from VIN A11051 onward.

Thank you!
My VIN is SAJDA41B82PA27449 , so the fuel tank has to be removed after all, right?

Also, with my car being made Dec 01, what are the odds that my secondary timing chain tensioners are indeed the better metal ones? I read somewhere here that the transition began Aug 01, and dealership mechanic said it was gradual with small variety before they settled on final fix.
