Hi all,

For your amusement, this is what happens when you back your XK over the edge of a path, into thin air. This error was caused by assuming I knew what was behind me when in a rush, rather than actually checking.

You can see that my flatmate's pot plant has suffered badly - its just visible under the rear wheel - will sort that out tomorrow. Otherwise, there was no damage, expect to my pride.

There was a little metal tab hanging off the chassis in front of the rear wheel, and the weight of the car settled on that thankfully. Aside from a little concrete dust, no one would ever know what happened - except you all do now. The salvage guy was brilliant - a less experienced one could have caused many hundreds of dollars or more in damage, just trying to help.

 

I'll bet that caused some tightening of the sphincter.
Glad you got away with it.
