The Direct Dealer Warranty - Vehicle Details

Paper work shows I have a AC w/Air Filter. Mind you my car is a 1997 with a birth date that appears to be 12/23/1996 and sold on 2/14/1997.
Should I take this print out as gospel that I have this cabin filter??? It would explain why I have ALWAYS felt that this blower fan on the HVAC was really lame. It blows it hardest that would match any of my ither cars low to MAYBE med at best.
It also says I have Head Lamp Power wash but can't say I have ever seen anything squirt on the head lights!!!
Everything else on the print out about the car is correct.

Lastly the read out gives me all the records for the car claim history. Gives Program code the causal part. Is there anyway to DECODE these things??

The only reason I knew I had headlight washers was because one of them was misadjusted and it squirted straight up in the air. The headlight washers work when you activate the windshield washer. Have someone sit in the car and hold in the washer switch while you watch from the front. After about 5 seconds the headlight washers should come on.

If nothing else, put the list in a safe place. Forty years from now you can show that all of the serial numbers match. It will make the car worth more money. Maybe you could laminate it and put it down under the spare tire.

Cars are considered classics after 30 years. You're almost halfway there.

Call him! I think it would be cool to get a call from someone who bought a car I used to own. I had a '73 Dodge Charger back in the early 80's. I've often wondered if it's still on the road.

The 'casual part number' is intended to be a significant part replaced under the Jaguar warranty. It may be only one of many dealt with on this repair but all that is buried within Jaguar's data base as far as this report is concerned. Use one of the part number look up sources to get an idea of what was repaired.

Take a look at your headlight, if you have power washers there will be a little glass door at the bottom( it will actually move), if not the glass door is actually molded into the glass headlight cover, I would also like to see a list of the dealer codes and what they mean.

The light clean things, I have a pc that just plugs into a device that would be the squirters?? It is a plastic glass surface like part that comes off but it is just a dummy pc, does not look functional and is not part fo the lenses themselves.

Well if these washers are not there when the read out of my vin says it is then I bet the cabin air filter is not there. I can't find the thread on how to look for that?

The 'casual part numbers' are simply the part numbers available at the top of the XK8/R FAQ Sticky. The 'S' numbers refer to the 'Service Actions' also in the XK8/R Sticky's under XK8 TSB's.
