Hi guys. Whilst under my recently acquired 1997 xk8 I noticed a small oil leak from the automatic transmission. It seems to be coming from around the gear selector shaft under the selector lever on the left hand side of the transmission case. I am planning to change the transmission fluid and filter but can find little information on whether the seals on the selector shaft can be changed and how difficult or easy a job it might be. your thoughts and experience welcomed.

 

I had the same problem. Transmission shop charged. 700 CDN which I thought was quite pricey but the Jag badge usually adds $$$ to the price. I have wanted to get it fixed for at least 10 years.
bit the bullet no leaks since and back the same day. Glad I did.
