Default Gear Shift Console?

I have a 2000 Jag xkr convertible. I need to replace the gear shift panel in the center console. The part I need has the P, N, R, D letters on it. I don't need the plastic trim that goes around it. Jag seems to have made several of these for their different cars, and I am not sure which part number I need as a replacement. Can anyone give me this info?

I think this is what you are looking for, right?

Thanks for your input. I hope this part number will be the same for the U.S. version of the car. I tried getting the part from a Jag dealer here in Virginia, but they ordered the wrong part twice.

Default Called J Gate module

What is the problem and what are you looking for in your J Gate Module

Common problem is the cover cracks and the rubber gasket underneath perishes.

You can get these these separately.

Recently, I had great difficulty getting just the gasket separately (LNC6197AA now). Everyone who seemed to have it, didn't. Every one I yanked from local junkyards was worse than my original. So, I ended up ordering a whole OEM illumination module that includes both of these parts (I think LNC6195AC for you). It wasn't cheap (~$200), but the gasket design changed to a less friable material in the time between 2000/2001 and now.

One complication was that the 'modern' illumination board that came with the new module no longer illuminated anything but P and R leds. So, I just put the old one back in.

One thing I had no trouble finding in pretty good used condition was the cover that David pictures above. I didn't see anyone selling them separately as new OEM, but I wasn't looking for that.

You might want to call Welsh or Jagbits or Terry's Jag or ... In my experience, you are more likely to get a cheaper and more accurate result, depending on what you need.
