Hi, I have an intermittent sloppy / lazy / jumpy gear change from 1 - 2 when accelerating hard. In fact the gearbox is not as smooth as my 1999 BMW 740. The dealer has suggested a software upgrade. Has anyone any knowledge / experience of this. My local independent can do the update tomorrow for £50. Fast answers please, am I waisting my cash. Car is an 04 XK8 4.2 coupe, 40,000 miles.
