Getting ready to fire it backup...
2001 XK8 Conv has been just sitting in the 'unheated' garage for the past 4-5 months for several reasons (installing Top Remote Control, changing all of the wood because of a change from NAV to 3 Gauge and other). The weather is finally starting to get warmer and I want to get out Golfing some more.
I put a slow charge on the battery in preparation for firing up the engine. However, I would like to make sure that the engine does not fire/start until the oil has been allowed backup into the cylinders and other areas.
What is the best fuse to pull to stop the engine from firing:
1 - EMS Fuse Box RH side of the Engine Bay, Fuse 5 for the Injector Supply...
2 - " " " or Fuse 18 for the Ignition Coil Supply...
3 - or possibly the Trunk/Boot Fuse Box, Fuse 7 for the Fuel Pump...
I would like then, to use the 'starter' to turn the engine over for just a short period of time (5-10 seconds) to insure that the Engine Oil Pressure is up and in the engine cylinders. I really do not want to start the engine if the cylinder walls and other various points are in a dry oil condition.
Thanks - Bill M.

Agree, the injector is best, because if there is any fuel sitting in the fuel lines it will not be released in the engine.
BTW, the injector is fuse removal is the recommended process for starting the engine when new hydraulic chain tensioners are installed and they need to fill with oil before operating properly.
