Angry Got Smog check now Engine not getting fuel

2001 Jaguar xk8 convert

I just got a smog check... Passed no problem... Tried to start car to leave. It cranked over, but as I gave it gas it choked out. Restart, the same over and over again. as I give it gas, rpms bearley move and it stalls out. fuel starved.

Ran out for new fell pump relay. Didn't help. I am thinking either fuel pumps, throttle body or injectors.

Any thoughts?

Yes Ash, in fact I pull my fuse while she's idling to depressurize it before I change the fuel filter. The fuse is in the trunk don't recall the number.

Do you have your owners manual?

John

I found the relay in the trunk and changed it out for a new one. Now recharging battery and hoping that it will solve why the engine is not getting fuel.

Do you hear the fuel pump cycle when you turn the key to on position prior to start?
If attempts to start could a vacuume hose to the throttle body have come loose?
That happened to me and car had very rough start?
Others will surely add comments

Changing the relay did not help, so I found every fuse that deals with fuel, and found a blown one. Replaced it but still no go.

Jeremys - I do hear the clicking under the hood, that I always hear pre startup, but do not hear fuel pump (unless that is the pump). That is the only sound I ever hear pre ignition.

It looks like time to take it in to a mechanic. This will be the first time in the 5 years of ownership and 45k miles (except for new tensioners day one). Hate to give up so easy.

Will let you know what the

So, it idles sort of fine? If so, there is at least some pressure. I would encourage you to check the codes...

When I started it right after smog check, it started (very low rough idle). Gave it gas and it would not get over 1000 rpms and then started to die, pumped gas, still never over 1000 rpm and died.

Checked codes, none!

Now it won't start, and still no codes

Your car has 2 set of fuses controlling the pump. First verify you have no pressure then see if this information helps.
