Great hand cleaner - I never thought of this one before
Today, while working on the Jag, I came across something that works better than I ever expected so I'm going to pass it on.
As you can see from my other posts today I was working on the rear wheel bearing replacement, it sure is an incredibly dirty job.
As you can imagine my hands were covered in oil and grease, it was a mess. After a few hours it was time for a break, so I went in to clean up. While getting started with some dish soap to loosen the grease, I noticed a new "Miracle Eraser" laying by the sink.
Just for the heck of it, I rubbed it on the grease stains on my hands. WOW - It came right off!!! Two swipes and clean. That would have taken 10 minutes of scrubbing even with Pumice based hand cleaner and a brush. Using a Miracle Eraser just never occurred to me before for my hands, but boy it sure works well.
Who knows, this may be so darn obvious that everyone knows about it already, if not give it a try sometime. Frankly I've never seen anything work so well and so fast.
I love the fact that this is a global forum. For those who don't recognize the name, "Miracle Eraser" (ME) let me explain:
It is a brand name by a company called Mr.Clean in the USA. It looks and feels like a white foam pad.
I've seen many discussions/debates about exactly what is in these things (forgive me if some of these discussions were on this board and I don't recall the author), but someone really sharp explained it best. It turns out that the white pad is a super fine abrasive that is very durable & extremely aggressive. No chemicals/soap included. I never thought of cleaning my hands with it, but like I said it works so well and so fast I wanted to share it.
Hope it helps you out.
John

Can't believe that a specialist hand cleaner like this doesn't exist over the pond!

It emulsifies and turns black oily deposits into a form that just rinses off with plain water, I got my first tub of swarfega as an essential after-maintenance product to go with my V Twin Super Sports Morgan Three wheeler in the Sixties and have used it ever since.

I think you all should try foaming anti-microbial hand soap. It works as well as just about anything else and it does not need water. Dispense, rub and wipe off. And it does not stink.
I've been using everything from brake cleaner spray to the orange gritty soap for mechanics. This foaming stuff works great.
