Default Had a good repair day

Ahh, nothing like a day to let machines run and fix my car.

Been fighting with the dreaded stab/trac fault for the last month. At first intermitent, then on full, last week off for a few days, then intermitent, then back on all the time. Thought it could be a sensor as I replaced the passenger side front wheel bearing a few months ago.

Did the thermostat change a couple weeks back when I had the overheat scare, waterpump was about a month before that.

Figured I checked the brake pump continuity at that time and got 12ohms. Figured bad pump but then it went back to intermitent and figured that it couldn't be the pump even though it was over 4ohms.

So took the unit apart and instead of splitting the unit I made a 7/8" hole over the plug area which I saw in a post and wish I could remember who recommended so I could say cudos but his name eludes me at the moment. Resoldered the pump motor joints and sealed up the unit with a rubber plug and some rtv black silicone.

Customer called after I finished pluging the unit so I had to put the car back together and run over to help setup some machines I delivered last week and there was much rejoicing, yeah, no faults, stab/trac or otherwise.

Needed to bleed the the brakes though so I picked up some fluid on my way back to the shop. While I had the rears off I greased the half shafts at the fittings which I've been meaning to do.

When I took off the rear passenger tire it looked low. Rolled it around and found a screw in between the treads. Don't know where, must have picked it up on the way back to the shop. Had a tire plug kit I bought sometime around 1994 and fixed that. Stunned it was still good but I guess that vulcanized rubber never goes bad.

Finshed bleeding the fronts, put all the wheels back on and drove home.

Ahh what a wonderful day, and I'm not beeing sarcastic.
It truly was a great day, and I don't know about anyone else but doesn't it always seems like they run so much better after a repair or two, or more.
