Question Hard reset fail?

As I posted recently, I finally got around to changing my battery. While I was at it, decided to do a hard reset at the same time. I read in other posts to disconnect the battery for 24 hours and that would do it. I pulled mine Saturday afternoon and just now replaced it (Sunday 7pm). To my surprise, all my radio stations are still there. All I did was reprogram the windows. Did I succeed in doing a hard reset?

I think so. I prefer disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and touching it to the positive terminal for several seconds, but leaving it disconnected as long as you did is good. Most US market cars do not lose the radio stations, but you will need to reset the bass/treble settings.

I'll check to see if the setting have changed. Are there any other "signs" that the reset was successful?

Confirmed, bass and treble setting were at zero. Not where I had them before battery removal.

I've always done the hard reset by touching +and- why did you want to do a hard reset?
BTW sounds like you have the exact same car as mine and I live in RI.

I'm still trying to understand why people do a hard reset. It achieves very little and even that is temporary if there's an underlying problem.

There was no reason for doing the reset other that "might as well do it while the battery is out".

Sounds like we're twins except I have Atlas rims. Wish I had yours instead. I live about 45 minutes from you.
