Default hard starting

Any new info on hard starting. when it starts, it runs great. Mechanic says it slowly looses fuel pressure. Is it lost through injectors? Lost in fuel rail? Gummed up one way valve?

well if your loosing fuel pressure.. simple pressure test can find out if it's draining/leaking down or draining back into the tank...fuel (pump check valve failure)

Mechanic had it. I'm running injector cleaner through the tank right now because he said the one way valves sometimes get gummed up. He said he does not want to replace anything right away without trying some low cost solutions first.

Anybody know why the computer(s) not communicating with each other.

...Should I be afraid to mess with the car myself?

My bad. Two different subjects. Thanks for info on check valve.

Before I did the quick fix on the window (window wasnot going up afterI opened thedoorso Iheld both window switches down for three clicks then up for three clicks - it reprograms the door). Mech said he hooked the car up to diagnostic to check for codes and he said the car wasn't getting a signal from the door. That is what I was questioning.

A bad check valve will leak back into tank, right? Could I have a leaking injector? While starting, it seams like it is flooded.

Can you tell me what is a good tech manual for a 97 xk8 4.0L

In the future, I will keep my questions separate to avoid confusion.

Update.
Fuel pressure not completely dropping. Drops down to 20 psi or so.
Mech thinks maybe computer not telling air intake valve to open upon startup.
Previous owner said main computer was rebuilt out of vehicle. If so, how would you reprogram the computer and sync with all the other sub systems.
Probably a dealer service, huh?

you don't i would advise it be taken to a real jag tech.. cuz the mechanic sounds like he doesn't really know what he is doing.. no offense..

None taken...that's why I'm trying to get info online. There are mechs and there aretechs. This guy is pretty good about fixing things but I do question his diagnostics sometimes... but he is real close to the house and cheaper than the dealer.
Know of any techs in the San Antonio, Tx area?
Thanks again.

nope.. i am a tech and ive discovered.. that it can cost you less to go to a dealer sometimes.. then to a mechanic in a garage .. when he can take hours of trouble shooting.. rather then knowing exactly what is wrong..
