Angry Has me stumped

Hi.....After I turn off my car, everything in my information window resets to zero, except the mileage of the car. On my radio, the volume turns to zero, and the mode resets to 0, on the bass, and treble, yet I do not lose station memory......I'm going out to check fuses, battery, and grounds. If you have some insight, please let me know.......Mike

Check the little flap that closes when you pull the ignition key out. If it doesn't close completely the battery drains. To fix it, spray the KEY with WD40 (Duck Oil over there?) and put it in and out a few times.

Instead of WD40, may I suggest a non-oily lubricant, such as 'dri-slide'? Check at electronic parts stores (almost suggested RadioShack).

Locks love powdered graphite. Use that, but use it sparingly....

Believe it or not, I actually have Duck Oil, from a past experience, when a man named Nigel sent me some, out of nowhere, for some Porsche info on his sunroof. A lot of black stuff came out, and I used foam computer style q-tips. The door does not cover the whole opening, but at least it is shutting firmly now. I hope this works.....We'll see what happens. Everything on the car was functioning perfectly, until this came up. Now the car has to relearn how I drive. I have to reset the windows. I undid the battery, and gave it a good service, including Coke on the positive terminal for 45 minutes in a pill bottle. After I undid all the wires around the battery. I cleaned the posts and clamps, as well as the surface between the posts, just in case. I installed toothed washers, and sprayed all the connections, with red non corrosive sealer. I have never seen radio grounds in the boot before....Live and learn I guess. Thanks a lot jimforrest, and the rest of you. I suppose we will see if it works, in the next few days.....Thanks again......Mike
