Having problems with remote for central locking still
Hi all. Can anyone help out with this please. When i bought the car about 3 months back i only got a key with it and no remote for the alarm. I have bought two brand new fobs and tried all the methods online for programing them with no luck. So last week i took the car to the main dealers to program them to the car for me on the computer they teold me. Went back for the car at the end of the day and they said they can not get the car to program to the fobs and said it could be the ariel for the fobs that is fitted somewhere near the back window but without looking further and at a cost of up to £300 to find the problem the could not be sure of a total cost for this problem. Has anyone ever heard of such a problem and if so do you know the fix for it please as using the key and only having a few seconds to get the key in to the ignition is now doing my head in.

Are you absolutely certain that you have the correct fobs? All years that I have paid attention to had more than one part number for multiple fobs. Unless a dealer looked up the proper one based on your VIN there is a 50%, or less, chance of having the correct one. Even if provided by a dealer there is a chance that it is incorrect.
