Default Having trouble re-assembling intake elbow to supercharger...

Hi There, I'm hoping someone will offer advice as to whether I should install the intake manifold before the supercharger on a 2000 XKR. I fixed the heater coolant motor and after reassembly had a leak so ripped it all out assuming it was the valley hoses. Trying to sew it up again. I've got the supercharger back in and battend down but having trouble fitting the intake manifold back in place with the gasket in between. I have to assume I have to take the supercharger back out and install the intake elbow first. I'd also appreciate some advice on how to keep the rectangular gasket in place while maneuvering.. Please help me. Darcy

I did this some five years ago. If I remember correctly I applied some sealant to the gasket so that it sat stuck on the mating surface while assembling. Did the trick

Thanks Higgins. I do have to install the intake elbow before the supercharger don't I? I've got analysis paralysis presently...

Unfortunately you can’t install the intake elbow to the blower prior to installing the blower onto the engine. That single (PITA) bolt that holds the backside of the blower to the block can’t be accessed with the elbow in the way. With my blower off my car, I did what Higgins suggested and used rtv (as opposed to glue), reinstalled the elbow with bolts tight, let it dry overnight, removed elbow off the blower, then installed blower on engine, reinstalled pita bolt in back then reinstalled elbow without having to fight the elbow to blower gasket.

Thank you both. I did as Higgins suggested and adhered the gasket to one face. Had some gnarly trouble trying to get the short stubby hoses back on between the intake and the intercoolers I finally read in another post by "baddawg" about some diy non jaguar stub hose replacement. This worked great and saved me from going bonkers. I used some silicone spray instead of wd40 for lube. I hope the combined knowledge of these gracious fellows helps someone else. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...cement-153420/
