Default Headlight is OK..but what is that mirror part?

Been a heavy winter for this year and I just now noticed that my drivers side headlight has taken a hit by a rock or something. Not the headlight itself but the little "half moon" looking mirror part.

I have attached a pic!

Please, someone tell me that this can be replaced without replaced the entire headlight assembly and where can i get this little thing???

Thanks in Advance!

That's the cover for your headlight washer. Yes, I said headlight washer. I will not digress into my opinion of the need for this feature. It can be replaced separately (both of mine have fallen off thru the years), which is a good thing.

Otherwise I might not have any.

It is called the 'jet cover' (LJA7055FA: left, LJA7054FA: right).

About $42.50 list for a new one, $10 or so less at the online dealers.

The mirror is the cover for the jet that pops out. As I recall it's a friction fit, I glued mine on.

if that mirror is there you have headlight washers. Cars with out them, that mirror is not there, the HL unit is all one pc.
Mine are off right now. What do you mean by FRICTION FIT? I took mine off cause I wasa idiot fooling around now they wont go back on firmly enough for me to feel then wont fall off. When I first pulled them it was hard as hell to get off, not they come off with a flip of the finger.

They only work when you have the HL's on. And you have to do some type of sequence to make them work of which I forget. Should be in the owners manual?

When you pull your broken part off you will see an arm that it connected too. YOu can pull it out with your fingers, but don't YANK on it. I did with mine and pulled it off it's track, which I put back on but was a little tricky.
When you pull on it you will see two little round nozzles sticking up on each arm, driver/pass. Mine was missing a nozzle on each on.
Anyone know part# for those???

with the lights on and you hit the washers like 6 times or so then it willl kick out the arms and squirt the head lights.
WHen I had my mirrors off I was driving it in the dark. Mine are missing one nozzle on each side so it would squirt EVERYWHERE. I would pull up to lights and it would nail the cars next to me, it was too funny.

link above is the unit. #1 that whole unit slides into groves on the inside of the headlight unit. The nozzle arm coming out of it extends/squirts when activated, you CAN pull on the end with your fingers to see if the nozzle squirters are there, on the very end the two ***** you see on the pic.

I plugged the lines, very seldom do I ever use the windshield wipers let alone the headlight washers. To me its a useless feature, something else to go wrong.

Hahaha... that reminds me of my old Plymouth Belvedere... It had a nickname, "Blue Hell". I bought it from a friend. The driver's side windshield jet was plugged up. The right one was pointed to the right. Activating it would jet anyone on the sidewalk, at about waist level. It was fun hitting people at bus stops as you drove by. God, I was a bad teenager. lol

Have someone turn on the lights and use the window washer - about every third time the headlight washer jets will fire. My mirror part was seated crookedly. I pulled on it a bit and it popped off in my hand. It sort of snapped on to the jet stalk but was a pretty weak friction fit. I glued it on, probably with super glue. As I recall I grabbed the jet when it was extended and pressed the mirror on.

Then I hit a deer and the whole thing was replaced.

guess I will glue mine back on. To put them on as they fit now, they would fall off on the first bump in the road,

Well that is cool! I see now the covers opening and shooting the lights. Thanks for the info everyone. Looking around looks like I will be out around $40 to get another. Not finding the $10 but I think I would like the new anyway. But, just in case, will may add a little glue just to make sure that it has good seal so I wont have the issue of being loose like BrgJag....

Thanks!!!

all I know is when I pulled min off it was not real easy. Now when I put them on, I can take one finger and tip it off rather easy, nothing a good bump in the road would do also. I will be glueing mine back on.

You do not glue the covers back on they just snap into place.

I found one of my "JET COVERS" last week in the street where a garbage truck ran over it.

Does anyone think the factory may have designed them to come off easily so they could sell more $40 one inch triangular mirrors? I'll order another, but will also glue it on.
