I haven't had my XK8 very long, a week or so, so bare with me. There is a little chrome piece in the headlight opening that is a little loose.
What is this thing ? The right one is fine the left one seems to wobble. Anybody had any experience with this ? I'll attach a photo. It's the
little trianglular thing at the bottom. TIA.

 

That is the front door of the headlight washer's residence. Not all of these cars came equipt with headlight washers, thus, the headlight washer cave is empty and lonely in some of these.

All joking aside, is your car equipped with headlight washers? Both headlights should be the same. I assume your car wasn't equipped with it and the PO at some point had to replace a headlight and might've bought the unit for car's with the headlight washing system.

 

turn on the headlights and push the windshield wash button and if your car is equipped with headlight washers they will extend and spray. The cover that you are asking about is attached to the washer nozzel and will extend out with the washer. The piece just snaps on the end. If they extend when wash command is used you may want to silicone it on the little attachment point. If you lose the cover it will cost between 30 and 60 bucks to replace. good luck
