Default Headlight Washer Won't Retract

Yesterday I activated the headlight washers by accident on my 2000 XKR. Now the washer on the drivers side won't retract. The passenger side is okay and you can't pull it out, but the drivers side is just hanging there. If I try to push it back in, it goes most of the way then stops before its all the way back. I think they are extended by water pressure. What pulls it back? I've ran the washers a few times and it still sprays.

I would remove the headlamp and detach the washer unit from it.The unit merely is clipped onto the bottom of the headlamp, they sometimes get gummed up and stick.

I'll try that. Does anyone have a drawing of what it looks like?

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. It just came loose from the attachment. Just reattached it.

I had the driver's side happen to me as well. but I lost that little insert in the washer nozzel ..it's a little plastic ball that fans out or disperses the water.

I didn't remove the light, but instead turned the front wheels and removed the front panel. reached up in there and by feel placed it back into its holder. Then I pulled the fuse. That fuse only operates the headlamp washers so removing it was much easier than removing any mechanics of the wasker system.

Also be careful that the little glass cover is in the proper position. If it is not it will be very loose and wobbly and WILL fall off...but if put back at the proper angle it will lock into place securely
