Default Headrest adjuster cable - clarification?

Hi all,

I've read the threads and watched the videos on taking a section out of the headrest adjustment cable and fixing the join with either a heat shrink sleeve or plumbing connector... but... I'm not clear why you wouldn't just shorten by cutting a piece off the end rather than in the middle of the cable?

The reason may become clear when I get the cover off the seat back but its not from the video or previous chat.

Yes it will, you either must pull the cable from the sleeve and cut it OR get a longer cable, but it's really not too hard. Go for it.

The ends have a metal attachment for the motor and headrest mechanism so you have to take the tubing length out of the middle.

Point of clarification: You remove 12mm of the cable sheath, not the cable itself. Big difference. If you cut the cable itself, you'll be in world of hurt trying to repair the damage you've done....
