Default Headrest making strange noise

I have a 2001 XK8 convertible and when I tilt the drivers seat forward to access the back seat I hear a motor sound that I think should be doing something with the headrest (maybe lowering it to get it out of the way) but nothing happens. I don't hear anything on the passenger side.

Any thoughts about what I'm experiencing?

Thanks in advance!

Saturn and Uranus are out of alignment
actually the outer drive sheath is TOO LONG and the inner cable slips out of the drive. There a bullein on repair no parts needed just time. Basicly just take out the drive cable, take out the inner steel cable then cut the outer sheath in half, then cut another 10mm length off 1 end to shorten it. using two long pieces of heat shrink. reconnect the outer sheath, first heat one tube, then slip the other over to increase strength. I then usually use ectrical tape over the end of the heat shrink to keep the tubes from slipping out. reassemble all and youre done

I think there is an FAQ that also has a description and photos of the procedure.

My passenger side headrest, though it does successfully travel up and down with controls, still likes to continue clicking when I tilt the seat up (headreast automatically retracts)...could never figure that one out. So, I tilt up, and tilt back as soon as possible in case my motor is working overtime to retract it further.

I just did that procedure last week I did use the new gorilla tape that they just came out with man the stuff sticks! It's like a super duct tape. It's a easy fix. and it doesn't cost anything.
