Default Help: How to replace radio LCD panel illumination bulb?


Radio panel LCD illumination bulb went out
Please direct me to the most relevant FAQ to open up the radio panel to do a bulb replacement. MIA.

Here is a you tube video from reverend Sam for removal of the radio. I have researched the bulbs as mine to have gone out. The conclusion I came to is to remove the radio and then I am taking it to an electronics repair shop. The bulbs are soldered on to the back of the display and don't sound like something my old eyes and shaky hands want to mess with.

If you were hoping to remove the radio with the type of release tool used on other marques, prepare for disappointment. There's a lot of dismantling to get to this stage:





I thought replacing the bulbs may be a further challenge and as Vern confirms in post #2, it is.
