Default Hidden switch?...

Good afternoon everyone,

I have had my XKR for a year and noticed this switch which is accessible when the spectacle/glasses holder is down. I can't find any info on this in the manuals so I suspect it is an addon for something although at the moment I dont know what for. Or is it a factory switch that maybe others have in their cars?

Hidden, only visible when the glasses panel lowered.

I thought it might be an isolation for the aerial/antennae but it isn't.

Any info much appreciated...

Cheers...

Holy sh*t he found the switch that when turned on the car never breaks down again. This was only a myth but not anymore.
I don't know, will be interesting to find out.

Smoke screen, rockets, could be just about anything.

Aftermarket alarm or radar detector perhaps?

Given how well it's been concealed, I'd put my money on an ignition isolation switch fitted as an additional anti-theft measure.

Did you try switching it off? Curiosity would definitely have got the better of me!

The switch is to call a tow truck. I was also amused to see Bond jamming the gearshift back into 1st and/or so quickly. In reality, the crunch as the syncros were overcome would have probably obscured the music!

Good lord man, why would you get rid of such a car?!?

Unless of course you were tired of laying under or pushing it.

it's a REV LIMITER/LEARNER switch. prevents your wife from racing your ride on Friday nights at the local drag strip!

When a car goes from being regularly usable to one that can't even be parked and left without serious risk of damage or theft, it's time to move on.

Well, I've tested all I can think of on the car and the switch doesn't appear to do anything... If I had time then I would pull the lower dash and trace the wiring... However I go offshore tomorrow for a month so unfortunately it's going to have to wait...
Made me smile 😊 some of the replies... Thanks for all the comments, I hope to give a definitive answer for what the switch does next month...
Cheers....

Maybe it is the PO's "Keep the Next Owner in Suspense" switch.

Possible power steering assist on/off, antennae on/off, rear quarter windows up with top down, driving lights on with head lights off, footwell lights, start disabled, that's about all I can think of from various mod threads.
