Default hissing sound under the hood when locking

With the '97 XK8 convertible nicely tucked away in the garage for the winter, today I noticed that after arming the security system with the remote key, there's a hissing sound (somewhat like a boiling kettle) coming from the right front corner of the engine bay. It will die out slowly after about a minute, and starts again when the lock key on the remote is pressed again...

Pretty spoogy, right? Anyone any clues?

Thanks,

Kees

Do you see any fluids puddled underneath the front end?

R134a refrigerant hisses when it escapes from an HVAC system, but once there's a leak it all escapes in a matter of a couple of minutes or less....

Escaping coolant can also hiss, but usually only when the coolant is hot....

Default fortunately no leakages

The garage floor is dry and clean. The Jag has been hibernated for a couple of months now, I only unlock her every now and then to smell the leather...

Wonder if one of the security features (e.g. brakes) is being armed when the sound emerges. As I mentioned, it's almost like a kettle boiling, but initially I thought it was sparks from some short circuit....
